A curling iron is provided to make curled hair straight within a short time by forming projections and grooves on uneven parts of upper and lower heating elements at regular intervals in a longitudinal direction. A curling iron operated as like nippers has bodies installed at the upper and lower parts with facing each other about a hinge and heating elements(13a) installed in each body with facing each other. Wave-shaped uneven parts are formed on the upper and lower heating elements from one longitudinal end of the heating body to the other end in a width direction(W). The uneven parts are aligned to combine the upper and lower heating elements with each other. Projections(14a) are formed on the recessed parts at regular intervals in a longitudinal direction and grooves(15a) for receiving the projections are formed on the protruded parts at regular intervals in a longitudinal direction.
