A cellulase fusion protein comprising: (a) an optionally modified first amino acid sequence of a cellulase core derived from one species; and (b) an optionally modified second amino acid sequence of a linker and/or CBD derived from another species, where a junction region has been introduced between the first amino acid sequence and the second amino acid sequence, where a stable fusion protein is obtained, is new. Independent claims are also included for: (1) an expression vector comprising a first polynucleotide sequence encoding an optionally modified first amino acid sequence of a cellulase core derived from one species, and a second polynucleotide sequence encoding an optionally modified second amino acid sequence of a linker and/or CBD derived from another species, and a polynucleotide encoding a junction region connecting the first and second polynucleotide sequences, the polynucleotide sequences encoding the respective amino acid sequences above; (2) a host cell comprising the expression vector; (3) a process for the production of a cellulase fusion protein; (4) an enzyme preparation comprising the cellulase fusion protein; (5) a process for biostoning; (6) a process for biofinishing; (7) a detergent composition comprising the cellulase fusion protein or the enzyme preparation and auxiliaries, such as surface active agents, surfactants, bleaching agents, or builders; (8) a method of treating cellulosic fiber containing textile material; (9) a method for treating wood-derived pulp or fiber; and (10) a method for improving the quality of animal feed.
