An anode catalyst for a fuel cell, a membrane electrode assembly for a fuel cell containing the anode catalyst, and a fuel cell system containing the membrane electrode assembly are provided to improve the catalytic activity to the oxidation of fuel. An anode catalyst comprises 54-80 wt% of a cluster compound represented by Ru-Pd-A; and a support which supports the cluster compound, wherein A is selected from the group consisting of Ni, Co and their mixture. Preferably the cluster compound comprises 10-50 atom% of Ru; 20-40 atom% of Pd; and 10-70 atom% of A. Preferably the support is a carbon-based material; and the anode catalyst has an average diameter of 3-6 nm. |
