The system has a set of superposed spring plates (1-3) extending in a longitudinal direction (X) of a motor vehicle. The plate (1) has a front end and a rear end connected in an articulated manner to a frame (4) along axes (A, C) transversal to the longitudinal direction. A rear axle (5) e.g. rigid rear axle, of the vehicle is fixed to the spring plates at a point (M1) in a zone closer to the middle of the plates. The point is located on a neutral fiber of the plate (1). The rear axle of the vehicle is fixed below the spring plate (1). The spring plates (2, 3) extend below the rear axle.
