发明名称 Device for automatically adjusting or limiting the travel of the slide in machine tools
摘要 1,027,167. Machine tools. A. MOOSMAN. Oct. 23, 1962 [Oct. 23, 1961], No. 40148/62. Headings B3B, B3K and B3N. [Also in Divisions B4 and F2] Means for setting a slide 11 in a machine tool comprises a shaft 3 having plane surfaces 4 of different lengths to give coarse-setting values, a feeler 7 to engage the ends of the plane surface to control the drive to the slide (such as through a clutch or a fluid-pressure motor) and motors A-E, Fig. 3 (not shown), for rotating the shaft to select the required coarse value and for moving it axially to the required fine values. When the shaft has been set, the slide is moved in one or other direction according to whether the feeler 7 engages a flattened surface or not. The motors for moving the shaft rotationally and axially are a group A of ten pistons 25, Fig. 3 (not shown), and four groups B-E of ten pistons 23 controlled by valves selected by buttons set to define a programme on a punched band. Each group of pistons acts against the edge of one of a series of concentric cams 27, 34-37. A cam is set when the piston such as 28, Fig. 4 (not shown), engages a notch in the cam. The amount of rotation of each cam is transmitted either through gears 31 to position the shaft angularly or through differential gearing and a ball-screw-and-nut 18, 15 to position the shaft axially. Back-lash is taken up by three spiral springs 63 acting on the nut 18 through gears 62, 22. Initial settings of the device are obtained by unscrewing nuts 67 by a manually-positioned key 68 so that the pressure of springs 66 on gears 49, 64, 65 is relieved to enable them to be adjusted angularly. Curves can be cut with the apparatus by using a series of small adjustments.
