<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microorganism improved in protease productivity further, and to provide a method for producing a protease using the microorganism. <P>SOLUTION: The microorganism is a mutant of Bacillus clausii, being characterized in containing such a mutation that a valine residue is substituted for a specific alanine residue in a specific amino acid sequence or an amino acid at a position corresponding to the alanine residue. The method for producing an alkali protease is also provided, comprising culturing the above mutant in an alkaline medium and harvesting the alkali protease from the resultant culture liquid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
