<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus with which a surgical doctor team can easily carry out the surgical operation of the head of a patient. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for use in surgical procedures comprises a magnetic resonance imaging system including a magnet 14 and an RF probe 18 for generating a strong magnetic field, and a mounting device which can position the magnet to a first position where the head of the patient is positioned in the magnetic field of the magnet 14 while the patient remains in place on the operating table 10. The mounting device can move the magnet 14 from the first position to a second position which is spaced by enough distance apart from the operating table 10 in the horizontal direction so that the surgical doctor team can accesses the patient and carry out the surgical procedures. The operating table 10 has a horizontal table top surface 44 including the head supporting part to support the head of the patient, and is equipped with an angle controlling means 38 to incline the table top surface 44 around the axis lateral to the table top surface 44, and a rotation controlling means 37 to rotate the table top surface around the axis in the longitudinal direction to the table top surface 44. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
