<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pump water heater capable of efficiently heating up the water in a hot water storage tank within a prescribed time. <P>SOLUTION: This heat pump water heater where the water for hot water supply, supplied from a lower portion of the hot water storage tank is heated up by using a heat pump cycle, and the heated-up water is distributed to an upper portion of the hot water storage tank, comprises a calculating portion 23 for calculating a circulation flow rate per a unit time, of the water circulated from the hot water storage tank within a predetermined prescribed time, on the basis of capacity information relating to a capacity of the water in the hot water storage tank and time information relating to a predetermined prescribed time, and calculating a time necessary for heating-up treatment of the water of the whole capacity in the hot water storage tank on the basis of the calculated circulation flow rate, as a heating-up treatment time, and a power distribution control portion 24 performing the heating-up treatment by the heat pump cycle by circulating the water from the hot water storage tank by the circulation flow rate calculated by the calculating portion 23 during the heating-up treatment time calculated by the calculating portion 23. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
