PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attach a parking lock device installed on a transmission without changing a structure of the transmission which becomes a base, and to make the parking lock device compact. SOLUTION: A first coupling member 11 is spline-fitted with a rear end portion of an output shaft 1 of the transmission and fixed by a fixing nut 5, and a second coupling member 12 is integrally united with the first coupling member 11. Continuous recessed/projecting portion 22C is formed on an outer periphery of the first coupling member 11. In a parking lock state, a claw portion 31A of a parking pole 31 disposed in a lower part is engaged with the recessed/projecting portion 11C. The parking lock device is attached to the rear end porion of the output shaft 1, it is not necessary to change the base part of the transmission when attaching. The second coupling member is provided with an expanding shaft portion 12C formed in the same shape as the rear end portion of the output shaft 1, so that a common coupling joint 13 continuing to a propeller shaft of a vehicle can be used regardless the presence/absence of attachment of the parking lock device.
