PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain efficient and highly accurate debugging of a ladder program for controlling the operation of equipment, in a short time regarding a simulation device and a simulation method suitably used for debugging of the ladder program for controlling an automatic assembling device of an HDD manufacturing device or the like. SOLUTION: The simulation device has a sequencer 1 for controlling the equipment 5 using the ladder program; a three-dimensional simulator 3 controlling a three-dimensional model of the equipment 5 constructed on a three-dimensional virtual space and carrying out simulation of operation of the three-dimensional model; and a display for displaying the simulated operation of the three-dimensional model. A real PLC 1 (a real programmable logic controller) for actually performing operation control of the equipment is used as the sequencer, and the real PLC 1 is connected to the three-dimensional simulator 3, and the three-dimensional model of the equipment 5 is operated on the virtual space by the ladder program of the real PLC 1.
