PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to form a desired thickened part by clarifying the deforming behavior when the thickened part from a hollow shaft material is integrally formed by using an axial thickening-processing method. SOLUTION: In the axial thickening-processing method, for integrally forming the desired thickened part in an intermediate part of a material W to be processed having the outer diameter D<SB>0</SB>and the thickness t, the material W is held in a state of separating at a prescribed distance L<SB>0</SB>to one pair mutually faced holding parts, and an axial pressurized stress P is acted by approaching at least one side of holding part to the other side of holding part and also, the rotation and the bending angleθare acted to the material W between both holding parts by rotating around the material W and deviating at least the one side of holding part in the inclining direction to the axial center of the other side of the holding part, and after cumlative-thickening the projected part generated in the bending inside of the material W between both holding parts to the whole periphery and also, after performing the straightening to the material to be processed by returning back the bending to the straight, the rotating and the axial pressing states, are stopped, wherein the above method is performed on condition of (L<SB>0</SB>/D<SB>0</SB>)≤0.8.
