A timing information creating method, and a method for searching and editing broadcasting by using a broadcasting receiver and timing information are provided to automate searching and editing of broadcasting stream through timing information of broadcasting streams and improve the operation environment of the broadcasting receiver by receiving searching and editing information from the outside by sharing timing information. A broadcasting receiver comprises the followings: a tuner which receives digital broadcasting streams provided through various paths and the broadcasting programming information of digital broadcasting; a time stamp module(140) which inserts a time stamp to the digital streams by referring to the received broadcasting programming information; a control device(120) which controls to convert the inserted time stamp into STC(System Time Clock) and create the timing information of the broadcasting streams; and a storage unit(150) which stores the created timing information.
