<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, and an image forming method and program, capable of processing data as binary data or grayscale data by flexibly coping with application purpose or the like, when the result of reading original in the ACS mode is decided as being a monochromatic original. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming method includes an acquisition step (S01) of reading the image of an original to acquire image data; a monochrome designation step, where whether the image data are processed by multivalued grayscale data or binary data can be designated before start of reading the original; a discrimination step (S02) of discriminating whether the read original is a color original or a monochromatic original; and monochromatic data processing steps (S03, S05, S06), where the image data are processed as data designated in the monochrome designation step, when the read original is discriminated as being the monochromatic original in the discrimination step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
