<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small fuel cell for low power application in very low cost in a direct methanol fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: An MEA 2 is arranged in an almost cylindrical fuel cell case 10. In the MEA 2, an air electrode 22 is exposed to the atmosphere, and the electrode surface of a fuel electrode 21 constitutes the bottom surface on the inside of a methanol aqueous solution storing part 24. Carbon dioxide produced in the fuel electrode 21 is directly exhausted from the fuel electrode 21 into a methanol aqueous solution in the methanol aqueous solution storing part 24, rises through the methanol aqueous solution in the methanol aqueous solution storing part 24, and when the pressure in the methanol aqueous solution storing part 24 reaches a prescribed value, a lid 13 is pushed up and opened, and carbon dioxide generated in the methanol aqueous solution of the methanol aqueous solution storing part 24 is exhausted to the outside from a small hole 12 through an opening part 13. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
