摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an abrupt increase in pressure in a reformer installed on the upstream side of a power generation cell even if the power generation cell is abruptly stopped from a stationary power generation state or an output is abruptly dropped by a load variation. <P>SOLUTION: Fuel and water present in a cartridge 2 are fed to an evaporator 4 by a pump 3. The fuel and water are evaporated by the evaporator 4 and the mixed gas of the fuel and water is supplied to the reformer 5. Reformed gas is generated from the fuel and water in the reformer 5, and the reformed gas is fed to a carbon monoxide remover 6. A carbon monoxide is removed by oxidation in the carbon monoxide remover 6. The reformed gas is fed to a fuel electrode of a power generation cell (a fuel cell body) 8 from the carbon monoxide remover 6 through a relief valve 7, and electric power is generated in the power generation cell 8 by the electrochemical reaction of the reformed gas. When the pressure of the reformed gas fed from the carbon monoxide remover 6 to the power generation cell 8 becomes a prescribed value or higher, the relief valve 7 is opened, the reformed gas is fed to a catalytic combustor 10, and hydrogen in the reformed gas is burned. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
