PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise the thermal conductivity of a lubricant and suppress the temperature rise in the constitutive elements of a machine using the lubricant. SOLUTION: A spindle apparatus is provided, being such that the respective outer rings of bearings 10a-10d supporting the main shaft 5 are fixed via an inner housing 20 onto the inner circumference of a housing 28, the outer ring of the forefront bearing 10a is fastened by an outer ring press 30, and the outer ring of the rearmost bearing 10d is fastened via an outer ring press 34 on the housing 28 under being springily impelled by a spring 36. The respective bearings 10a-10d are fed with, as a lubricant, a grease composition comprising a base oil, a thickening agent and an additive from a lubricant feeder 22 via the corresponding nozzles 12a, 12b, 12c and 12d, wherein the thickening agent comprises a thermally conductive component and an urea compound, its content being 5-30 mass% based on the whole grease composition.
