PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a railway vehicle capable of preventing reduction in strength in a connection part to a roof structure of a low roof body structure or a side body structure, and emission of noises, and furthermore, simplifying the attachment to the roof structure and the side structure, a manufacturing method thereof, and a hollow member used therefor. SOLUTION: In joining of a hollow member 120 structuring the side structure and a hollow member 210 structuring the low roof structure 20, the uppermost part of the hollow member 120 upper than the joint part with the low roof structure 20 is cut, and a first protruded rib 124 and a second protruded rib 125 are left towards the low roof structure 20 in the upper end part 128 of the hollow member 120. Next, the low roof structure 20 is lowered from the upper side of the side structure 12, and the first securing rib 214 and the second securing rib 215 of the low roof structure 20 are placed on the first protruded rib 124 and the second protruded rib 125, and then, abutting parts 220, 221 are welded from the outside or inside of the vehicle.
