PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly-precise shake correcting device reducing a memory capacity necessary to correct a vertical movement of hand in a video camera. SOLUTION: An image signal output from a CCD 11 is supplied to a signal processing circuit 13, is converted into signals Y, Cb and Cr, and is supplied to a field memory 15 and a vector detecting means 14 each. A motion vector quantity sought by the motion vector detecting means 14 is supplied to a CPU 16 and controls a read position of the field memory 15 and a cut-out position of the CCD 11 each by an integrating means 16a, a centering controlling means 16b and a field memory read/CCD cut-out position controlling means 16c.
