PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a damping coating easy to enhance the damping of the coating film therefrom compounded with an inorganic filler. SOLUTION: The method for producing the damping coating comprises the first mixing step of mixing an aqueous resin dispersion with an epoxy-based silane coupling agent and the second mixing step of mixing the resultant mixed liquid with the inorganic filler; wherein resin particles dispersed in the aqueous resin dispersion are constituted of at least one polymeric material selected from an acrylic resin and an acrylic/styrene-based resin.
