PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excavator and an excavation system, which facilitate a change in the shape of an excavated cross section, and which enable the downsizing of the excavator. SOLUTION: This excavator M comprises: a drive motor 10; a main shaft 2 which is rotated by the power of the drive motor 10; a cutter shaft 30 which is rotated by the rotation of the main shaft 2 and rotated along the rotation of the main shaft 2; and a cutter 4 which is fixed to a leading end of the cutter shaft 30 so as to cut ground.
