PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking force control device capable of ensuring the vehicular performance (the braking performance and the behavior performance) without increasing the capacity of a battery. SOLUTION: The braking force control device comprises a required mechanical braking torque/required motor torque setting means 41j for setting the required mechanical braking torque to a mechanical braking torque control means 24 and the required mechanical motor torque to a motor control means 32 based on the total required braking torques to wheels 10FL, 10FR, 10RL, 10RR, a regenerative/power-running motor torque calculation means 41k for calculating the regenerative and power-running motor torque by each motor of the entire vehicle according to the input/output power of a battery 33, and a motor torque variable range setting means 41l capable of relatively increasing the motor torque variable range of the motor of the wheel having large effect on the predetermined performance in the wheel more than that of the motors of the other wheels when the sum of each required motor torque to each motor of the entire vehicle is larger than the regenerative/power-running motor torque of the entire vehicle.
