The method involves specifying an aesthetically relevant partial construction surface (7) as a part of an outer surface of a dental prosthesis part in the context of a supply of three dimensional (3D)-models of the dental prosthesis part. One of the blanks (1) is determined from a set of blanks with prefabricated asthetically relevant partial end surface (2) of a dental surface. The 3D model of the part is machined from the selected blanks in such a manner that the prefabricated partial end surface of blanks remains unmachined in a central area. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a blank for producing a dental prosthesis part (2) a blank assortment including a set of blanks (3) a tooth database for producing a dental prosthesis part (4) a blank data base for producing a dental prosthesis part.
