Caliper (1) comprises tie rods (3) formed as one-piece with a first saddle plate (2) and interacting with a second saddle plate (5). Preferred Features: The second saddle plate supports an actuator for pressing a friction brake lining against a brake disk. The caliper has an oscillating bearing (7, 8) and a protective hoop which extends outside of a periphery of the brake disk in an intermediate space between the saddle plates in the peripheral direction between the tie rods and protects the intermediate space between the saddle plates against mechanical effects.
