CYSTATIN OF IXODID

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new peptide and polynucleotide useful for controllig ixodid and the treatment and prevention of ixodid-mediated infectious diseases.

SOLUTION: This polypeptide is new cystatin. The polypeptide, polynucleotide encoding the same or a vector containing the same are useful for controlling the ixodid or the treatment and prevention of the ixodid-mediated infectious diseases. Also, an inhibitor of the polypeptide or an antibody against the polypeptide are also useful for controlling the ixodid and the treatment and prevention of the ixodid-mediated infectious diseases.
