<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor controller in which processing and arrangement for sensorless driving are simplified. <P>SOLUTION: The motor controller 5 drives an electric motor 3 comprising a rotor and stator winding for a U phase, a V phase and a W phase. A high frequency voltage generating section 30 generates a voltage command for applying a voltage vector rotating with a predetermined period while holding a constant magnitude. A counter 26 performs count operation in synchronism with application of that voltage vector. Output from the counter 26 represents the phase of the voltage vector. A rotor angle estimating section 25 outputs the count of the counter 26 when a current supplied from a current detection circuit 19 through a high frequency response extracting section 24 takes the maximal value, as information representative of the phase angle of the rotor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
