PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing a side material(s) used for a clad material for a heat exchanger, which excels in productivity and corrosion resistance, facilitating control of the surface condition and flatness of a side material member(s), and which suppresses bonding failure; to provide a process for producing a clad material for a heat exchanger; and to provide a clad material for a heat exchanger. SOLUTION: The process for producing a side material(s) is used for a clad material for a heat exchanger composed of a core material and, superimposed on one surface or both surfaces thereof, one or two or more side materials, and in which at least one layer of the side material(s) is composed of a brazing filler metal. The brazing filler metal is provided so as to be located on the outermost surface side, and at least one layer of the side material(s) including the brazing filler metal has a component formulation different from that of a metal for core material. The process comprises the melting step of melting the metal for side material; the casting step of casting the metal for side material melted in the melting step, so as to produce a side material ingot; and the slicing step of slicing the side material ingot into a prescribed thickness in this order.
