PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically execute a switching operation over two radio terminals to make either one usable, thereby improving the operability. SOLUTION: The radio communication system 1 has a car-carried radio terminal 3 and a portable radio terminal 5 having the same recorded telephone number, provided either radio terminal 3, 5 is usable, and executes functions such as mail, data communication, telephone, etc., using either enabled radio terminal with the other disabled. The system comprises a seat-sitting sensor 8 for detecting whether a driver 4 sits on the driving seat 7 of a vehicle 2, thereby automatically switching over the enabling or disabling of the two radio terminals 3, 5 according to the output condition change of the seat-sitting sensor 8.
