PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a black and white heat developable photosensitive material having high sensitivity and high density, excellent in image tone and excellent further in suitability to coating. SOLUTION: The black and white heat developable photosensitive material contains at least a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a color developing agent and a coupler which reacts with the oxidation product of the color developing agent to form a dye on at least one surface of a support, wherein the non-photosensitive organic silver salt has an average particle size of≤0.38μm.
