摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine valve mechanism which can prevent an unburned component from being exhausted, ensure the excellent ignition performance, and prevent a pumping loss in cold starting. SOLUTION: The engine valve mechanism 1 to drive an intake valve 11 and an exhaust valve 13 of the engine 4 adjusting an opening and closing timing is provided with a control means for controlling the opening and closing timing of the intake valve 11 and the exhaust valve 13 respectively. In starting the engine 4, until the air fuel mixture in a combustion chamber 2 of the engine 4 is ignited, the control means holds the exhaust valve 13 in a closed state, and opens the intake valve 11 in the exhaust stroke so as to make the unburned air fuel mixture in the combustion chamber 2 flow backward into the intake system.
