PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sintered matter production method by which the problem of a lumpy matter and a large diameter sintered matter occurring when various powdery waste is charged into a rotary kiln and fired is solved, consequently clogging in the kiln or an outlet of a cooler or the damage to equipment is prevented, and the particle diameter control or the disposal of the large sized sintered matter is unnecessitated and the high quality sintered matter is obtained. SOLUTION: In the sintered matter production method, a component adjusting material and/or a sintering aid are added into the waste or the like if needed and the waste or the like are fired in the rotary kiln. The method is characterized in that the firing is carried out while crushing the lumpy matter occurring in the rotary kiln. A sintered matter production apparatus is characterized in that a roll and a dam ring for preventing the movement of the roll is mounted in the rotary kiln. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
