PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small size and high power in-wheel motor with little vibration noise. SOLUTION: A rotor 50 is directly connected to a wheel shaft 30 to be rotated integrally with the shaft 30, an outer stator 70 is fixed to a housing 20 to be positioned outside in the radial direction of the rotation relative to the rotor 50, and an inner stator 80 is fixed to the housing 20 to be positioned inside in the radial direction of the rotation relative to the rotor 50. A cylindrical shaft part 52 is formed integrally with the rotor 50, and a wheel shaft 30 is inserted through it, thereby connecting the rotor 50 and the wheel shaft 30 directly, and then, the rotor is supported by a bearing 60. Owing to the adoption of this double stator structure, a speed reduction mechanism is no longer used, and thus, the miniaturization of the motor and simplification of the structure are enabled. The rotor and the wheel shaft are supported by the common bearing, and thus, the structure is further simplified and emission of vibration and noise are more suppressed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
