PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adsorbent carrier capable of removing cells in the blood, especially activated white blood cells of granulocyte, monocyte, cancer cells, and excessively-contained cytokine. SOLUTION: An adsorbent carrier manufacturing method is the method for treating the adsorbent carrier, where an iodine content exceeds 1.4 wt.%, with a liquid containing a halogen compound excluding an iodine compound so as to allow the iodine content to be not more than 1.4 wt.%. The adsorbent carrier of the present invention is the one manufactured by the method.
