A light emitting element array is provided with features of improvement in light-emitting efficiency and reduction of dispersion in light quantity. A light emitting element array is comprised of a light emitting unit line including a plurality of light emitting units linearly disposed in a primary scanning direction, and a micro-lens formed on the light emitting units, wherein the length in the primary scanning direction of the micro-lens is different from that in a sub-scanning direction, and the latter is longer than the former while the latter is not more than 3.5 times the former in shape.
