A multi-room type air conditioner includes a plurality of indoor units connected to one outdoor unit. The outdoor unit is capable of preventing pressure from rising even when the minimum number of indoor units are connected with the minimum capacity. The outdoor unit (2) is a unit of the air conditioner to which the indoor units (3) are connected, and comprises a compressor (11), a container (20), and a controller (4). The container (20) is disposed on the inlet side of the compressor (11) and can increase and decrease the amount of refrigerant storage. When the capacity of a refrigerant circulating path including the compressor (11) and the container (20) falls below a certain amount during heating operation, the controller (4) performs wet operation control for storing an excessive refrigerant in the container (20).
