摘要 <p>The bottom and walls of an excavated trench and the adjoining embankments are covered with a strong film, then a bed of material with a good thermal conductivity (e.g. anthracite) is laid on top of the film and then a sewer pipe (3) is laid on top of this bed, after which the trench is filled in with the same bed material before being capped with an insulating layer of waste glass or pumice. The insulation layer allows accumulated heat to escape into the atmosphere under given atmospheric conditions. A network of pipes (8) and connected headers (9) is laid on top of the insulation layer and cast in asphalt, before finally a road surface is laid on top of the asphalt. Liquid paraffin flowing through the pipes is used to collect heat from the sewer via radiation and convection and supply it to a hybrid heating device (11) for storage. This heat can be used for heating the road and pavement in the event of snow or frost, as well as for supplying heat to nearby buildings and homes for underfloor and wall heating. A burner powered by natural oil acts as a standby when insufficient heat is provided by the sewer.</p>
