PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably obtain an image of good quality at all times even during continuous large-quantity printing by preventing a fixing belt from being damaged when combined with magnetic toner. SOLUTION: A fixing device fixes a toner image on a recording body such as a paper sheet by hanging a fixing belt 10 across a pressure roller 6 and a tension roller 8 and bringing the a fixing belt 10 into press-contact with a heat roller, wherein toner to be fixed is the magnetic toner including magnetic particles in toner particles made of at least binder resin, and a particle shape of the magnetic particle is a round octahedron which is based upon an octahedron being a convex polyhedron surrounded by eight triangles and whose vertexes and ridges form curved surfaces, and has a part considered to be linear at an outer circumferential part of its projection image. When magnetic toner containing round octahedral magnetic particles of 0.05 to 0.5μm in mean particle size is used, none of fixing belt damage, filming, and fixation offsetting is caused even after continuous printing of 200,000 sheets.
