The screwing device (1) has a screwing tool for producing a torsional moment. An earth cable (5) fixed on a threaded bolt (4) is unscrewed by a screw connection using the torsional moment. A rotation protection device (8) is arranged on the device and fixes the earth cable during unscrewing the threaded bolt in a pre-determined position. The rotating protection device has a casing that partially holds the screwing tool. The center axis of the casing is arranged concentrical to a rotational axis of the screwing tool. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a ground closure in a motor vehicle by a screwing device.
