<p>A mounting device for attaching an element with a spherical connection portion (30) to a tubular member (10,11,14) forming part of a tool carrying structure, wherein the mounting device comprises a support member (20) with a part -cylindrical inner surface (21) for contact with a tubular member (10,11,14) and having two parallel radially extending wall portions (22,23) which form between them a radially extending opening and guide way (24) for a clamping block (25) . The guide way (24) is of a rectangular shape and has the same width as the diameter of a tubular member (10,11,14) for sidewise entry of the support member (20) onto a tubular member (10,11,14) . The clamping block (25) being formed at its one end with a part -cylindrical surface (28) for contact with the tubular member (10,11,14) and at its opposite end with a part -spherical surface (29) for engagement with the spherical connection portion (30) of an element to be attached to the tubular member (10,11,14) , and a clamping ring (35) is pressed by screws (37 a-d) against the spherical connection portion (30) to frictionally lock the attached element relative to the mounting device and the entire structure.</p> |
