PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video decoder system for collating (405, 415, 420) of program guide (PG) information acquired from various local remote sources. SOLUTION: The PG information is received from a first source, and a selectable PG menu icon is displayed. Categories having PG information items from the first source are collated for display attributes in response to menu icon selection (425), and corresponding items are displayed (430, 435). The display attributes allocated to the categories of the items are common between the categories of the items and the menu icon. Codes for specifying the program categories use equivalent mapping information for classifying programs in accordance with master set of the program categories, and can be converted into other codes (425). Complex program map information is created, and novel data IDs allocated to the items are included, and these are used for item extraction from a second source (420). COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
