<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus for a vehicle which can suppress a cost increase due to an increase in the number of antenna elements or transmission path cables, and can suppress enlargement of an antenna installation space, in performing radio communication with an external apparatus using a plurality of communication systems. <P>SOLUTION: The communication apparatus 1 for a vehicle is configured so that the directivity or polarization of an antenna module 11 can be switched and controlled depending on the type of an external apparatus by allowing a communication control apparatus 13 to control the antenna module 11. With this configuration, the communication apparatus 1 for a vehicle can perform radio communication with many kinds of external apparatuses while suppressing an increase in the physical number of antennas and suppressing enlargement of the installation space of the antenna module 11. Further, since the communication apparatus 1 for a vehicle has a configuration in which a communication cable 15 forms a transmission path of a communication signal and forms a transmission path of a switching signal command, the communication apparatus 1 can suppress an increase in material cost of the cable forming the transmission path. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
