<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adapter device for preventing the erroneous operation of a user, and for saving the space of an installation place and an adapter device to be used for the data transfer device. <P>SOLUTION: An adapter device 30 to be used for a data transfer device 10 for at least either extracting data from information terminal equipment (portable telephone set) 40 or writing data to the information terminal equipment 40 is provided with a casing member 310 installed so that a display part 210 of a computer device 20 can be exposed, and that an operation part 220 can be covered. An opening 321 for ventilation composed of a plurality of slits and a recessed placing part 322 on which the information terminal equipment is placed are installed at the upper part of the casing member 310. A slip preventing member 323 for preventing the slip of the information terminal equipment is installed on the upper face of the placing part 322.
