摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which shows the improved contrast of an image by preventing the occurrence of stray light on interfaces of microlenses. <P>SOLUTION: The microlenses 40 which converge incident light for each pixel are formed on an MLA substrate 31. A common electrode 43 for applying voltage to a liquid crystal layer 33 and a black matrix 42 are formed on a counter substrate 32. A junction layer 47 is provided between the MLA substrate 31 and counter substrate 32. Particulate layers 51 are provided on surfaces of the microlenses 40 and an incident-side surface of the counter substrate 31 by applying particulates onto the surfaces. The particulate layers 51 operate as antireflection bodies preventing interface reflection due to refractive index differences on the interface between the MLA substrate 31 and junction surface 47 and the interface between the junction layer 47 and counter substrate 32 to prevent a decrease in contrast caused by stray light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
