PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a data communication system which acquires time-series information of a plurality of data of a client equipment and time information at that time, without requiring the host equipment to communicate with the client equipment frequently. SOLUTION: In a data communication system in which data generated by a client equipment in time series is transmitted to the host equipment through a communication line, the client equipment is provided with a data-type conversion means which converts blocks of the data to character string information, a buffer means which holds the converted character string information, and a transmission means which transmits the character string information held in this buffer means to the host equipment; and the host equipment is provided with a data collection means which acquires the character string information from the client equipment, and decoding means by which the acquired character string information is restored by being divided for every sizes of data.
