PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool capable of surely nipping a diaphragm with an air chamber and an air piston. SOLUTION: This tool 1 used at the time of manufacturing a gas spring of a bumper maintains a state that the end c of a diaphragm 23 connected with a tubular air piston 21 whose end a is coupled with the outer periphery of a cylinder 11 of a bumper 10 is covered to the end 22c of a tubular air chamber 22 connected with the tip of a piston rod 12 of the bumper 10 while an intermediate part b of the diaphragm 23 is folded. This tool comprises a connecting member 2 detachably connected with the cylinder 11 of the bumper 10, and a restraining member 3 communicated with the connecting member 2, abutting on the intermediate part b of the diaphragm 23, and avoiding the end c from being detached from the end of the air chamber 22 by a restoring force.
