PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device for a power unit for efficiently cooling a belt type continuously variable transmission, by preventing entering of foreign matters in a gear shift chamber and avoiding enlargement of the power unit. SOLUTION: In the cooling device for a power unit 20, a gear shift chamber air discharge port 23z is opened to a perpendicular side wall on a wheel 17 side near a driven pulley 81 of the belt type continuously variable transmission 50, in a rear part of a transmission case 23, and an air discharge duct 120 covering the gear shift chamber air discharge port 23z and opened to a part near the center of the wheel 17 is provided.
