[Also in Group I] Apparatus for the magnetic treatment of liquid, e.g. boiler water, comprises a permanent magnetic core 1, having one pole in direct contact with a surrounding sleeve 2 which thus forms a polepiece for this pole, and having its other pole in direct contact with a polepiece 3 so arranged as to concentrate the flux at the gap between that polepiece and the corresponding end 5 of the sleeve forming the other polepiece. The polepiece 3 is removable so that polepieces of various shapes may be used to modify the shape and dimensions of the gap according to the type of liquid to be treated. The liquid flow (denoted by arrows " a ") may be streamlined by provision of a non-magnetic nose 4, exit holes 8 being provided in the web joining the sleeve to the core. |
