PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To forcibly scrape off the resin sticking fast to the clearance between the plunger head and the cylinder inner wall. SOLUTION: The injection device of the plunger type injection molding machine comprises the injection cylinder 30, the plunger head 31a that is inserted in the injection cylinder 30 in such a state that it can be advanced or retreated to the axial direction, the plunger axis 31b that extends from the plunger head 31a to one side of the axial direction of the plunger head 31a, and the injection driving device 40 that, by moving the plunger axis 31b to the other side of the axial direction, injects by the plunger head 31a the molten resin in the injection cylinder 30 to the other side of the axis direction. The plunger head 31a includes, in the periphery of one side of the axial direction, the projections 31c that slidingly contact the inner wall 30a of the injection cylinder 30.
