1,108,992. Inductive signalling. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS G.m.b.H. 11 June, 1965 [24 June, 1964], No. 24774/65. Heading H4U. In an inductive signalling system for motor vehicles, an advance inductive loop transmits a signal to prepare a receiver on a motor vehicle for the reception of a signal from a main loop and means are provided in the receiver to cancel the preparation after a predetermined time, the system being duplicated in the opposite direction of travel but arranged in staggered relationship along the roadway. By this means a vehicle travelling in one direction is prevented from receiving messages for a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction. The two loops may be formed from a single conductor in which the outgoing and return leads preferably are twisted together between the loops. The shorter advance loop produces a short pulse and the main loop a longer pulse at the receiver, and the receiver may be arranged to respond only to this combination. |
