<p>The present invention discloses method and apparatus for assigning an application to a security restriction. The method for assigning an application to a security restriction, comprising the steps of: obtaining the information of an API required by the application; checking an attribute of the API; allocating the application to a security restriction when the attribute of the API indicates the API only belongs to the security restriction, wherein the security restriction is one of a plurality of pre-determined security restrictions. The present invention allows non- authenticated application to provide more useful consumer features implemented by using a well-defined subset of available APIs. By allowing the application to choose the API class to use, the user has more freedom than if the device only allowed the minimum set of 'safe' APIs.</p> |
