<p>An automotive ignition system has a mechanical or electronic ignition key and ignition switch incorporated within a lock. The ignition lock incorporates a lock block (120) and alternates between the connected and disconnected modes as selected by the driver. In a third mode, vehicle electrical systems other than ignition remain in operation. The lock block incorporates a logic circuit (121) that compares two sets (132, 134) of conditions and prevents disconnection of the ignition circuit if the preconditions (132, 134) are not fulfilled. The logic circuit further incorporates a hardware switch (123) that facilitates some or all of the preconditions.</p> |
